Family-Owned Since 1978. Cutting Tabs Since 1993.
Anselmo Die & Index is what the internet has made rare: the actual factory. Here is where we came from, and why it matters to your job.
1978 — Anselmo Enterprises, Inc.
The company was founded in 1978 as Anselmo Enterprises, Inc. — a family business in the Chicago suburbs built on a simple promise: do the work in-house, do it right, and answer the phone yourself. That promise hasn't changed in nearly five decades.
1993 — the die-cutting pivot
In 1993 the company found the niche that would define it: die-cutting custom index tabs. The name changed to Anselmo Die & Index Co., Inc. to match, and the plant has spent the thirty-plus years since focused on one craft — printing, cutting, Mylar-reinforcing, collating, and finishing tab dividers and the bindery work that surrounds them.
Today — one plant, one family, both sides of the market
From the same Schaumburg floor we serve two kinds of customers: direct clients and trade printers who resell our work under their own name (see tab manufacturing for the trade), plus consumers and offices who design and order online at Tabzoola.com — our sister company’s online store, same owner, and every order is made in this plant.
The equipment
- Automated and manual index tabbing systems (high-volume Scott lines plus hand systems for delicate stock)
- Programmable cutters and custom steel-rule dies
- Canon digital production presses and conventional offset
- UV screen printing and instant-cure drying for specialty substrates
- Automated collating and Mylar edge reinforcing
Common questions
How long has Anselmo Die & Index been in business?
The company was founded in 1978 as Anselmo Enterprises, Inc. and began die-cutting custom index tabs in 1993, taking its current name the same year — a family business approaching its 50th year in Schaumburg, Illinois.
Is Anselmo a manufacturer or a reseller?
A manufacturer. We own the presses, dies, tabbing lines, and reinforcing equipment, and every job is produced in our own Schaumburg plant. Many well-known tab websites are resellers who subcontract to plants like ours.
What is the relationship between Anselmo Die & Index and Tabzoola?
Tabzoola (TABZOOLA, LLC) is our sister company: a separate company with the same owner, John Anselmo, that runs the online store at tabzoola.com. Every Tabzoola order is manufactured on this plant floor. Who makes Tabzoola’s tabs.
